Privacy Policy

How BrightKittools handles your information.

Last updated: October 2026

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy describes how Brightkittools ("the website," "we," "us," or "our") handles information when you visit and use brightkittools.com. Brightkittools provides free online tools including calculators, converters, text utilities, and developer tools.

2. Browser-Based Processing

All core tool functionality — calculations, conversions, text counting, password generation, data formatting, and encoding/decoding — is processed locally in your web browser using JavaScript. Your tool input data (numbers, text, dates, JSON, passwords, etc.) is not transmitted to any Brightkittools server for processing.

Generated passwords are created using your browser's cryptographic random number generator and are never stored, logged, or transmitted by Brightkittools.

3. Information That May Be Collected

3.1 Hosting Provider Logs

The web hosting provider that serves Brightkittools may automatically collect standard server logs, which can include:

  • Your IP address
  • Browser type and version
  • Operating system
  • Pages visited and timestamps
  • Referring URLs

These logs are maintained by the hosting provider as part of standard web hosting operations. We do not control the hosting provider's data retention policies.

3.2 Contact Communications

If you contact us via email, we receive the information you provide in your message, including your email address and message content. We use this information solely to respond to your inquiry.

3.3 Cookies and Local Storage

Brightkittools may use browser local storage or session storage to save your tool preferences (such as selected units or settings) for convenience. This data remains on your device and is not transmitted to any server.

If third-party services (such as advertising or analytics) are added in the future, they may set their own cookies. This policy will be updated accordingly.

4. Third-Party Services

4.1 Google Fonts

Brightkittools may load fonts from Google Fonts, which involves your browser making requests to Google's servers. Google's privacy policy applies to this data: https://policies.google.com/privacy

4.2 Advertising (Future)

Brightkittools may display advertisements through Google AdSense or other advertising networks in the future. If advertising is enabled:

  • The advertising provider may use cookies and similar technologies to display ads based on your interests or browsing history.
  • You may be able to opt out of personalized advertising through the advertising provider's settings or through industry opt-out tools.
  • The advertising provider's privacy policy will apply to the data they collect.
  • If Google AdSense is used, information about Google's use of data is available at: https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites

This privacy policy will be updated before any advertising is enabled to reflect the specific services used and data practices involved.

4.3 Analytics (Future)

Brightkittools does not currently use analytics services. If analytics are added in the future, this policy will be updated to describe what data is collected and how it is used.

5. How We Use Information

Any information collected (primarily through hosting logs and contact communications) may be used to:

  • Operate and maintain the website
  • Respond to your inquiries
  • Improve the website and tools
  • Diagnose technical problems

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell personal information. Information may be shared with:

  • Hosting providers as part of standard web hosting operations.
  • Advertising or analytics providers if such services are enabled in the future, as described above.
  • Legal authorities if required by applicable law.

7. Data Security

We implement reasonable measures to protect the website, including using HTTPS when available. However, no website or internet transmission is completely secure. Tool input data processed in your browser is not transmitted to our servers, which reduces data exposure.

8. Data Retention

Contact emails are retained for as long as necessary to respond to and resolve inquiries. Hosting provider logs are retained according to the hosting provider's policies.

9. Your Choices and Rights

  • You can clear browser local storage and cookies at any time through your browser settings.
  • You can use the tools without providing any personal information.
  • If advertising is enabled, you may opt out of personalized ads through the advertising provider's mechanisms.
  • Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have additional rights regarding your personal information (such as access, correction, or deletion). Contact us to exercise these rights.

10. Canadian Privacy Considerations

If Brightkittools is operated from Canada or serves Canadian visitors, the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable provincial privacy legislation may apply. The site owner must assess which Canadian privacy laws apply to their business and visitors and ensure compliance. This may include providing meaningful consent mechanisms, limiting data collection to what is necessary, and responding to access requests.

11. Children's Privacy

Brightkittools is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we learn that we have collected information from a child, we will take steps to delete it.

12. Changes to This Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Adding advertising or analytics services will require updates to this policy.
