Words are counted by splitting on whitespace. Sentences are detected by periods, exclamation marks, and question marks followed by a space or end-of-text. This is a simplified heuristic and may not perfectly handle all linguistic edge cases (e.g., abbreviations like "Dr." or "U.S.A.").
Reading time is estimated at approximately 238 words per minute. Speaking time is estimated at approximately 150 words per minute. These are averages and actual times will vary.
